Hey! So glad you are here!
“The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up” – Serena Williams
I couldn’t have said it better myself. I want us all to find successes in our wildest dreams and I want to empower other women like myself to go after whatever it is that’s calling them. I spent years never really knowing what I wanted, I just knew that I had a fire burning inside of me for growth and I knew I had to start somewhere.
I didn’t know how to start.
I didn’t know where to start.
I don’t think I really believed I was smart enough or even capable, but I wanted it. That I knew.
The Beginnings
I fell into the promotional marketing industry, it was not a dream, it was a job. And believe me, I tried every other job in the company before breaking down and trying to sell product. I was afraid of myself (literally) so walking into businesses and peddling product was never going to work. But I tried it, because it was the last option in this company and I wanted to be there. Fast forward about 25 years and here I am. I own my own promotional business, I started marketing wine (a dream job I never even thought about) and I have a bucket-full of dreams I cannot wait to bring to fruition.
I found myself. I found what actually sets my soul on fire. I am following that, and I want to help others believe they can have it too. And that brings us to WORTH & GRAY.
WORTH & GRAY
“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”
When I started my company almost six years ago, I spent weeks trying to come up with a name (in-between the dry-heaving and night sweats for the fear of all that was holy, but at the most basic level I was just afraid of failing.
I finally went with the name VOLARE with the help of a client over lunch and my best friend who wholeheartedly jumped with me.
Remember when I said I was afraid to fail?
I chose VOLARE (the Latin and Italian verb to fly and it becomes I will fly in Spanish with an add d accent) and quickly adopted the “what if I fly” outlook.
While the name VOLARE is near and dear to me, it’s time to level up. I want fresh, extremely personal and something that speaks to all aspects of me, including my first love, my daughter. I want her to feel a part of the legacy that I am building for her and show her that empowering fellow women is vital to our world.
I have given our new name part of me and part of her and couldn’t have come this far without my amazing tribe at Project Social.
Our new name is also a tribute to Grayson, my nephew, our little heart warrior and HG’s namesake.
Our new name embodies everything I am, everything I do and all that is to come. And there is definitely more to come.
xoxo,
sd
